Akbar Farzaliyev was born in the village of Kohne Khudat in Gusar.
In 1953, he entered the Faculty of Language and Literature of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute. He had to stop his studies there after the third year. He studied at the Faculty of Law of the Azerbaijan State University (1971), and until the end of his life he worked mainly as a lawyer.
He performed on public stages at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. He worked as an actor (1956-1961) and assistant director (1960-1961) at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. In 1963, he organized the Lezgi People’s Theater, became the theater’s director, and director of the Gusar District Culture House (1965-1970). In 1966, under his leadership, the “Lezgi Song and Dance Ensemble” was organized under the Gusar District Culture House. The play “Revenge” staged by the People’s Theater under his leadership became a laureate of the Baku Festival of Amateur Art (1967). As a director, he directed the plays “30 Gapiklik jarima” (1969), “Müktadir” (1969), “Daghlar shahiddir” (1971), “Yarimin atasi” (1977), “Imam Shamil” (1996).
For many years, he was also interested in prose and poetry, and composed music for the poem “Intizar”.
He played the role of a diver in the Russian-made film “Al Yelkanlar” (1961, directed by Alexander Ptushko).
In 1971, he was appointed a lawyer in the Gusar District Consumer Societies Union and worked in this position until the end of 1993. In 1978, he temporarily worked as a people's judge in the Gusar District People's Court, and after retirement, he worked as a translator in the People's Court.
Akbar Farzaliyev died in 1999.
