Aydin Aliyev was born in the village of Arazdeyan, Vedi region of Western Azerbaijan.

He studied at the Yerevan Agricultural Technical School and the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts.

He worked at the Irevan State Drama Theater (1975-1982), the Sheki State Drama Theater (1982-1986), and the Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater (1986-1992). He has been an actor at the Baku Municipal Theater since 1993.

He starred in the British-produced film “Ali and Nino” (2015, directed by Asif Kapadia).

He is an Honored Artist (2002). He was awarded the “Progress” medal (2013).
