Aydin Gurbanoghlu (Aydin Ibrahimovlu) was born in the village of Jalilli in the Tovuz region.

For a while, he collaborated with the newspaper "Haqiqet" published in Tovuz. He was a member of the literary union operating under the newspaper. Later, he came to Sumgayit and worked in one of the factories.

He studied at Azerbaijan State University. After graduating from school, he worked in various positions on Azerbaijan Television since 1966, such as a freelance correspondent, junior editor, editor, senior editor, editor-in-chief, and head of the union.

He has been engaged in creativity since his youth. His poems have been published in print media. He is the author of the books "Kahkeshan" (1977), "Araz usta nar bagi" (1985), and "Agh ishig" (2009). He conducted research on the epic "Koroghlu" for a long time, and his book "Koroghlu" reflecting his research was published (2015).

Aydin Gurbanoghlu passed away in 2020.
