Elkhan Yunis (Elkhan Abbasov) was born in Ganja.

He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1988-1992).

In 1992, he began working as an actor at the Ganja State Nizami Poetry Theater. He also worked as a stuntman at a film studio for a short time. Since 1993, he has worked at the Ganja State Drama Theater.

He is an Honored Artist (2014).
