Emin Afandiyev

Emin Afandiyev was born in Baku. He studied at the Film Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2005-2009).
He collaborated with the Salnamee Studio, “Azerbaijanfilm”, Butafilm and Public Television.
Winner of the “Start” International Student Film Festival (2007), winner of the International Audiovisual Festival.
He was awarded the “Director of the Year” award by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the film “0:1” (2008).
At the Cottbus Festival, the film “0:1” was included in the special program as “Films of the East” (2011, Germany).
He was awarded the “Best Director” award for the film “Yuva” (2012 / Baku).
The script “Gapi” was one of the 9 finalists selected from 200 scripts in the “Joint Project of the CIS Countries” competition at the “Kinoshok” Film Festival (2014, Anapa / Russia).
The film "Gift" won the "Best Feature Film" nomination at the "Azerbaijani Family 2016" film festival.
He was awarded the "Best Film" and "Best Director" awards of the Azerbaijan Guild of Film Critics for the film "Monologue of a Lonely Man" (2025).
