Fariz Ahmadov

Fariz Ahmadov was born in Jabrayil district.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts in the specialty of Literary Creativity and Screen Dramaturgy (2001-2005), the All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) in the specialty of Film Directing (2010-2012, Alexander Proshkin's workshop), and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts in the specialty of Directing.
He worked as a director at ANS TV (2005-2006), director-artistic director of the "Azanfilm" animated film studio (2012-2015), director at AzTV (2006-2018), producer at the Baku Media Center (2018-2020), director of the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio named after Jafar Jabbarli (2020-2022).
He is currently the producer of the Baku Media Center.
He is engaged in pedagogical activities, teaches directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (since 2015).
He was the founder and executive director of the Baku International Tourism Film Festival (2013-2014). He participated in master classes on production, directing and dramaturgy held in various countries and international festivals, and was awarded prestigious awards. He received the “Golden Fairy” award in the nomination “Best Documentary” for the film “Melting Island” (2015).
