Gulay Huseynova

Gulay Huseynova was born in Baku.

She studied Russian language and literature at Baku Slavic University (2006-2010), and directing and writing at the Turkish “Sinematek”, “Istanbul Film Academy” and “Öykü Fabrikası” institutions.

She hosted the “Yurdumuzu geza-geza” program on BSU’s radio (2009). She worked as a teacher and translator for 2 years. She starred in commercials. Since 2014, she has been the host of the “Radioskop” entertainment program on Araz FM, and later the “Bamboleo”, “Stolova Lova”, and “Secılen nahar” programs on Media FM. She is the author of the novels “P.S. Zaten boyun da kuchüktü..” (2015), “Ve bir Americano..” (2017). The novel “P.S. Zaten boyun da kuchüktü..” was the best-selling book of 2015. For this book, she was awarded the “Golden Pen” Literary Award.
She worked as a copywriter for an advertising company in Istanbul. She translated Grigory Petrov’s book “In the Land of White Lilies” (2018, “Martı Publications”), and Leo Tolstoy’s book of short stories “What Does a Man Live With?” from Russian into Turkish (2020, “Fol Kitap Publishing House”). She hosted the daily program “Pazardayız” on 360 TV (2019, 40 episodes). She starred in the Turkish-produced series “Yeni gelın” (2018) as Oksana, and in the Turkish-Russian co-production series “Qalbimin sultanı” (2018) as Reyhan kalfa. “Qalbimin sultanı” was broadcast on Russia’s 1TV channel (Pervyy Kanal) in 2019 under the title “Sultan moye serdca” (Sultan of My Heart). She has been active in Turkey since 2016.
