Namig Aghayev

Namig Aghayev was born in Baku. He studied at the Drama Directing Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1979-1984).
He worked as an assistant director and director at the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theater (1979-1987), chief director at the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater (1987-1993), head of the Creative Workshop at Space TV (2002-2007), lighting designer at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater (2009-2010), and director at the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater (2010).
In 1993-2001, he directed performances at the state and city theaters of Turkey.
Since 2007, he has worked as a director on Azerbaijani television.
He was awarded the "Humay" Award (2002) for the clip "Bu dunyani naghil bilek", the "Best Actor" nomination for the film "Akhinla ashagi" (2015), and the "Golden Fairy" Awards for the film "Ol" (2018).
Director Namig Aghayev is the son of writer Firudin Aghayev.
Director Namig Aghayev is the father of actress Rumiyya Aghayeva.
Director Namig Aghayev is the husband of actress Vusala Aghayeva.
