Namis Shirmammadov was born in Aghsu.

He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1979-1983).

He worked at the Sumgayit State Musical Drama Theater (1983-1989), as an actor at the Academic National Drama Theater (1989-1997), and again at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater as an actor (1997-2024) and director (2008-2024).

He is the author of two books (“Face to Face with a Dream”, “Face to Face, Eye to Eye, Word to Word”).

In the play “Savior” (Agshin Babayev), which was staged in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, he played the role of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev for the first time in the Republic.

He played the roles of an investigator in the film "The Last Monologue" produced by Russian filmmakers, Hasan in the series "Assassination" (2004), and Heydar Aliyev in the series "Born in the USSR" (2007).

Honored Artist (2008), laureate of the "Progress" (Taraggi) medal (2013), Namis Shirmammadov died in 2024.
