Nazim Abbasov (Nazim Abbas) was born in Lankaran.
He studied at the theater and cinema faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1961), and the television directing faculty of the LDTM and CU (1972).
Since 1961, he has worked as an assistant director, director, and chief director at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee. He was the director and chief director of the "Baku" television station (1979–1991), and the director of the "Azerbaijantelefilm" Creative Union (1993–2000).
Honored Artist (1989) Nazim Abbasov died in 2000.
