Royal Aliyev was born in the Leki settlement of Agdash.
He studied Film Directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2007-2011).
He worked on public television, ARB Aran television. His films have won awards at various festivals. His novel "August Rain" was published (2019).
