Shafiga Mammadova

Shafiga Mammadova was born in Derbent. She studied at the Musical Comedy Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1968). Since 1968, she has been working at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. In 1980, due to family concerns, she left the theater and began teaching at the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute. She was a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1995-2000), chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2012-2024).
She was awarded the State Prize for the role of Dilara in the play "Summer Days of the City" by Anar (1980) and the USSR State Prize for the image of the investigator's wife in the film "Investigation" (1981). She is a laureate of the Order of "Honor" (2013). Honored Artist (1974), People's Artist (1982).
Actress Shafiga Mammadova was the wife of theater director and actor Mehdi Mammadov.
Actress Shafiga Mammadova is the mother of director Ulvi Mehdi.
Actress Shafiga Mammadova is the sister of actor Mammad Mammadov.
