Tofig Mirzayev

Tofig Mirzayev (Tofig Mirza) was born in Gadabay. He studied at the Philharmonic School under the Conservatory in Moscow, at the Clarinet Department of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1964).
However, a sudden illness put an end to his musical career, and doctors forbade him to play the clarinet.
Having been forced to change his profession, he chose television work. For this purpose, he studied at the Central Television directing courses. He worked on Azerbaijani television for 25 years. He became a sound director, and later a director.
He starred in the films of foreign film producers “Front without a Wing” (1974, director Igor Gostyev / Russia), “Front behind the Front” (1977, director Igor Gostyev / Russia), “Front behind the Enemy” (1981, director Igor Gostyev / Russia, Czechoslovakia, GDR) as Hasan Aliyev, and in the film “The Man Being Interviewed” (1986, director Yuri Marukhin / Belarus).
Awarded the "Shohrat" Order (2022). Honored Artist (2022) of Azerbaijan.
Tofig Mirzayev currently lives in Israel.
