Zaur Shafiyev was born in Baku.

He studied at the Faculty of International Relations of Khazar University, the Faculty of Film Production at the Rustam Ibrahimbeyov International Film School.

He worked as an actor at the Ibrus Theater.

He starred in the film “We Declare War on You” (2010, director Igor Kholodkov / Russia) by foreign film producers as Alvi, in the film “Ursus” (2015, director Otar Shamatava / Ukraine, Georgia, Germany, Bulgaria) as Talat, in the short film “Uptown & out” (2017, director Christopher Di Eduardo / USA) as Mike, in the short film “Night Shift Doctor” (Georgia).
