Abel Maharramov

Abel Maharramov was born in Aghdam. He studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of Azerbaijan State University (1966-1971), and at the postgraduate course in Organic Chemistry of Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov (1973-1976). He worked as an operator and engineer at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Olefins by appointment. During his scientific and pedagogical activity, he published about 2,000 scientific articles. He is the author of 54 authorship certificates and patents, about 10 monographs and 37 textbooks and teaching aids have been published. He was a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the III (2005-2010) and IV (2010-2015) convocations, and the rector of Baku State University (1999-2018). Academician of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry at Baku State University, Honored Scientist (2000), laureate of the "Shohrat" Order (2009).
