Agha Ali Dadashov (Aghali Dadashov / Aghaali Dadashov) was born in Baku. He studied at the Azerbaijan Industrial Technical School (1923), the Azerbaijan Theater Technical School (1929), and the Directing Department of the Lunacharsky Theater Institute (1930-1935).

He directed the plays "Almas" and "Honor of the Fatherland" at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater (1936-1938). He could not continue his work in the theater, and the tragic murder of his brother overturned all his plans. His brother Hasanali rose to the position of minister during the Soviet era, but in 1938 he was arrested and executed under the label of "traitor to the homeland". The young director, who had just started his career, was removed from the capital as the brother of the "traitor to the homeland" and worked at the Ganja Drama Theater. His return to Baku and his work at the Young Spectators Theater cover an important period in his life.

He worked as a director at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater, Opera and Ballet Theater, Azerbaijan State Musical Drama Theater, chief director at the Young Spectators Theater (1954-1956), chief director and artistic director at the Ganja State Drama Theater, director and artistic director at the Aghdam State Drama Theater, artistic director at the Pioneers House, and head of the Theater Department at the Department of Arts. For a while, he worked as an assistant director and director at the Baku Film Studio.

In 1956, he was invited to television and worked as a chief director at the Azerbaijan State Radio and Television Committee (1956-1968). He is one of the founders of television theater in Azerbaijan. He taught acting and directing at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1968-1973).
