Amaliya Panahova was born in Ganja. She studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1966).
She worked at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater (1964-1975) and the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.
In 1992, she founded the Baku Municipal Theater.
She starred in the Russian-produced TV series “Yasmin” (2013, directors Ksenia Zarutskaya, Vyacheslav Kaminsky) as Aynur.
She directed more than 10 television and theater performances.
She was a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2000-2005).
She was the founder, director and artistic director of the Baku Municipal Theater.
She was engaged in pedagogical activities at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.
Honored Artist (1974), State Prize (1972), laureate of the Orders of "Sharaf" and "Shohrat", People's Artist (1985), Doctor of Art History, Professor Amaliya Panahova passed away in 2018.
Actress Amaliya Panahova was the wife of actor Yusif Mukhtarov.
