Ajdar Hamidov was born in the village of Mollakomali, Davachi (now Shabran).

He studied at the Faculty of Drama and Film Acting of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1979).

In 1979, he was assigned to the Sumgayit State Drama Theater. In 1990, he was accepted into the staff of the Academic National Drama Theater, where he worked until 2020.

Honored Artist (2002), People's Artist (2018) Ajdar Hamidov died in 2020 and was buried in the village of Aygunlu, Shabran district.
