Gushvar Sharifova (Gushvar Sharif) was born in the Gafan district of Western Azerbaijan. She spent her childhood in the Seyidler village of Zangilan.

She studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1984).

She worked as an actress at the Ganja State Drama Theater (1984-1995), the Baku Chamber Theater (1995-2003).

Since 2003, she has been an actress at the Azerbaijan State Young Spectator Theater.

She played the role of Malik Nakhararyan's mother in the British film "Ali and Nino" (2015, directed by Asif Kapadia).

She is an Honored Artist (2018).

Actress Gushvar Sharifova is the sister of actress Leyli Valiyeva.
