Izzat Orujova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Azerbaijan Oil Institute (1932).
She worked at the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Oil Refining Institute named after V. Kuybyshev (1932-1959), as a laboratory head at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes established on the basis of that institute (1959-1967), as a director of the Institute of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry (1967-1971), as a laboratory head at the Institute of Additive Chemistry (1971-1983). Her main research concerns increasing the production and quality of lubricants. She is one of the first Azerbaijani film actresses. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1962), Professor (1962),
