Maarif Mammadov was born in the Mardakan settlement of Baku.
He studied at the Faculty of Theater Studies of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.
From the age of 8, he acted in the performances of the Mardakan People's Theater at the Nizami Cultural Center, and later was appointed director of the Nizami Cultural Center.
Since 1992, he has worked as a senior editor and director at the Azerbaijan State Television. Since 1999, he has been the author and director of the program "Ordan-burdan". He is the author of the first entertainment program, "7 apples".
His plays have been staged on theater stages.
The books "Show Garib" (2013) and "Main Man" (2015) have been published.
Maarif Mammadov died in 2015 and was buried in the Mardakan cemetery.
Director, playwright Maarif Mammadov was the husband of actress, director Sadagat Maarif.
