Surayya Gasimova

Surayya Gasimova (Suraya Gasimova) was born in Tbilisi, Georgia.

She studied at the German language faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Foreign Languages ​​(1953-1958). After graduating from the institute, she began working there as a laboratory assistant. After some time, she was appointed a teacher of German grammar and lexicon. While still a student, she closely participated in scientific and practical conferences and gave reports on the teaching of German and Azerbaijani literature in higher and secondary schools.

While studying in secondary school in Tbilisi, she was the most active player and then the captain of the Georgian SSR youth national basketball team for about 5 years. She played in the student national team of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

She also had a beautiful voice. She successfully performed at the VI World Song and Dance Olympiad in Moscow.

Surayya Gasimova died in 2005.
