Alasgar Gurbanaliyev was born in the Gobu settlement of Baku.
He studied at the Faculty of Drama and Film Acting of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1971).
For a while he worked as an actor at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater. From 1979 until the end of his life, he worked at the Young Spectators Theater.
Alasgar Gurbanaliyev died in 2021.
