Alexander Petukhov

Alexander Petukhov was born in Moscow.
He studied at the Moscow Conservatory.
In 1969 he was invited to the USSR State Cinematography Orchestra. Under his leadership, the orchestra wrote music for more than 1,500 films, theater performances, television performances and other films. He was the conductor of the Pop Symphony Orchestra of Central Television and All-Union Radio (1983-1988). He was the conductor of the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra (1989-1994), the Kuban Symphony Orchestra (1994-1998).
Since 1998 he has been the music director and chief conductor of the Moscow Conservatory Opera.
Since 2000 he has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the S. Rachmaninoff Symphony Orchestra.
In 2013 he was elected head of the opera department of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky.
