Araz Atakishiyev was born in Ganja.

While studying at secondary school in Baku, he participated in the “Cheerful and Quick-witted Club” (KVN) (2004), becoming a champion several times. Since 2006, he has been working as a scriptwriter in the “Cheerful and Quick-witted Club”, and was awarded 1st place in the Azerbaijan Debate Championship (2007). He became a champion in the inter-university championship held by the “Cheerful and Quick-witted Club” as part of the Teachers’ University (2009).

He worked as a member of the “Gelem” scriptwriting group on Khazar TV.
