Aytan Ismikhanova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School (1975-1986), the Piano Department (Farida Guliyeva's class) and the Composition Department (Jevdat Hajiyev's class) of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory.
In 1991, she began working as a music teacher (Music School No. 2, Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School). She has worked on many local and international music projects.
