Bakhtiyar Karimov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1976).
He worked at the Baku State Puppet Theater and the Sumgayit State Musical Drama Theater. Since 1973, he has been an actor at the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators.
He starred in the film “Destroyed Bridges” (1996, directed by Rafig Pooya, as a KGB agent / USA) by foreign filmmakers.
