Gennadi Tishchenko was born in Baku.
He studied at the animation artist courses at the Azerbaijan Film Studio (1966-1968), the Architecture Faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers (1974-1979), and the Higher Director and Screenwriter Courses (1982-1984).
He worked at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1976-1988), and the “Multtelefilm” studio (1988-2000, Russia).
He lived in Russia for a long time.
Gennadi Tishchenko died in Moscow in 2024.
