Kamal Khudaverdiyev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1961-1965).
In 1965, at the suggestion of the chief director of the Academic National Drama Theater, Tofig Kazimov, he was hired as a full-time member of the troupe. With the exception of a short break, he worked only at the Academic Theater.
Honored Artist (1982), People's Artist (1991) Kamal Khudaverdiyev died in 2008.
