Lutfali Abdullayev was born in Nukha (now Sheki).

He worked in the drama club of the Sheki workers' youth club for several months. After moving to Baku, he began to attend classes at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. Due to his interest in vocal art, he was engaged in performing at Berolsky's course in parallel. Despite his young age, he was accepted into the choir of the opera theater through a competition. As an assistant actor, he played in silent and episodic roles, and after a short time, he played the role of Veli in the operetta "Arshin Mal Alan". When the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater was established in 1938, he was accepted into the troupe. When the theater had to cease its activities due to financial difficulties in the spring of 1949, he transferred to the National Drama Theater. Two years later, he began working in the muscomedy troupe, which performed as a variety ensemble under the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic. When the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater resumed its activities in 1956, he performed in successful performances as the theater's leading artist.

For the image of Veli in the film "Arshin Mal Alan" he was awarded the USSR State Prize together with the creative team (1946).

Honored Artist (1943), People's Artist (1960) Lutfali Abdullayev died in 1973 and was buried in the Second Alley of Honor.

Actor Lutfali Abdullayev is the father of director Gulnara Abdullayeva.
