Nazim Mirishli was born in Baku.

He studied in the piano class of the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School (1969-1980), in the Composition department of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1980-1985, in the class of Cevdet Hajiyev).

He taught at the Asef Zeynalli Music College (1985-1995), at Erciyes University in Turkey (1995-2001). Since 2001, he has been a teacher and associate professor at the Composition Department of the Baku Academy of Music (2007).

Among his works are 4 pieces for chamber orchestra (1994), a series of 7 pieces for piano (1993–1997), Suite on Turkish folk themes for chamber orchestra (1998), and “Erciyez” Chamber for choir and symphony orchestra (1999). He has published a textbook called “Kamancha School” (2008), and a book called “Vagif Mustafazadeh” (2014).

He is an Honored Artist (2012).

Composer Nazim Mirishli is the son of composer Ramiz Mirishli.
