Nijat Gafuroghlu was born in Kurdamir district.

He studied Psychology at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (2001-2005, 2006-2008-master's degree).

In 2002, he founded the newspaper "For Youth" with a group of young journalists. He worked as a correspondent in the daily socio-political newspaper "Adalat" (2003-2005), as a correspondent in the news department of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (2005-2006), as an editor and presenter (2006-2007). He was the founder and head of "Biz Production" LLC (2010-2014). He worked as the editor-in-chief of ARB24 television (2014-2016), as well as the author-host of the daily analytical-information program "Gündem", a director at the Aran Film Creative Center (2016-2018), and the chief producer of ARB24 (2018-2022). In 2023, he founded "NET Media" LLC. In 2026, he was appointed artistic director of Space television.
