Rovshan Abbasov was born in Gazakh.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1980).
He worked at the Ganja State Drama Theater (1980-1984), the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater (1984-1989), the Azerbaijan State Youth Theater (1989-2002), and the Baku Chamber Theater (2002-2009). Since 2009, he has been an actor at the Azerbaijan State Young Spectator Theater.
