Rufat Ahmadzadeh was born in Baku. His father was arrested as an enemy of the people and the family moved to the Balakan region. He began his career there at an early age, working as a mobile cinema mechanic at the age of 13.

After returning to Baku, he worked as a director at the pioneer house and published various poems in the press. He began his artistic creativity in 1953 with the poem "Aziz Bayram". He studied at the Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State University. Until the end of his life, he worked in the editorial office of the satirical magazine "Kirpi", rising from a proofreader to the position of deputy editor-in-chief. He is the author of 11 books, 4 musical comedies ("With you, smile-smile", "Bildirchinin beyliyi", "92 minutes of laughter", "Halalik"), television plays and hundreds of satirical television novellas-scenes. Songs were composed to his poems.

Rufat Ahmadzadeh died in 1988.
