Sabuhi Mammadov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Faculty of Cultural Education of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1988–1993).

He worked as an actor at the “Shimsek” Theater Studio (1983-1988), stage manager at the Youth Theater (1988-1989), sound director at the Yugh Theater (1998-2001), deputy general director at the Ibrus Theater (2009-2011), sound manager at the UNS Creative Stage (2008-2012), manager at the National Drama Theater (1988-2012), actor in the “Ordan-burdan” program of Azerbaijan Television (1986), producer of the “Taymaut” program of Space FM (2003-2005), producer and sound manager at Space TV (2001-2005), director at Public TV (2005-2006). Deputy General Director of the “100th Anniversary of Azerbaijani Cinema” Foundation (2009-2011), member of the organizing committee of the 9th “East-West” International Film Festival (2009). Worked on various international audiovisual projects.

He worked as a casting manager for the series “Marriage by Will” (2009, director Vasily Serikov / Russia), the film “Ali and Nino” (2015, director Asif Kapadia / Great Britain), the film “Caucasian Trio” (2015, directors Eldar Shengelaya, Fuad Ibrahimbeyov, Temur Butikashvili / Georgia, Spain, Russia) of foreign film producers, and as an actor manager for the film “Kitchen. The Last Battle” (2017, director Anton Fedotov / Russia).

Since 2013, he has been the founder and head of the acting agency “Azerbaijan Actors Agency”.
