Sardar Rustam was born in the Goylar village of Shamakhi.
He studied at the Faculty of Drama and Film Acting of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2002).
Since his student days, he has performed on public stages in the performances of the Academic National Drama Theater. For a while (since 1999) he worked at the Academic National Drama Theater.
Actor Sardar Rustam is the brother of actor Sayyar Rustamov.
