Sonakhanim Aliyeva (Sona Aliyeva / Sona Mammadova) was born in Baku.

She studied at the Baku Preschool Pedagogical Technical School (1990-1994), the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1995-1999).

She worked at the Ilham Miniature Theater (1998-2006), and the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators (1995-2011).
