Vasif Mammadzadeh

Vasif Mammadzadeh (Vasif Bakhtiyaroghlu) was born in Shamkir.

He studied at the Drama Directing Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (1995-1999, Master's degree-2003-2005).

In 1993, he began his career as an assistant at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio. He worked at the Yugh Theater, the "Azerbaijantelefilm" Creative Union (2000), ANS TV, ATV International, CBC, ITV (2016-2020) television stations. He is currently an employee of Azerbaijan Television.

He was awarded the "Charlie Chapley" award for the film "Olga" at the "Promising Youth" festival (2001), the "Golden Eagle" award in the "Most Original Idea" nomination established by the European Union for the film "Salt Lake" at the International Audiovisual Festival (2002), the Grand Prix and the "Best Director" award for the feature film "Lal" at the III "Unknown Cinema" Festival (2003). The film "City within a City" won 2nd place in the "TV Films" nomination at the I Baku International Tourism Film Festival, and the Golden Award in the "National Cinema" nomination (2013). He was awarded the "General Aliaga Shikhlinski" jubilee medal of the Republican Veterans Organization for the film "The Dignity of a Commander... General Aliaga Shikhlinski" (2015). He is a laureate of the Hasan bey Zardabi Award, Honored Worker of Culture (2016).
