27 LOCAL FILMS SHOWED IN CINEMAS IN 2025

We present a statistical assessment of local film screenings in Azerbaijani cinemas in 2025. Last year, a total of 27 local films were presented to the audience. This remained unchanged compared to the indicator of 2024. This figure indicates that national film production is progressing at a steady pace.
When looking at the statistics by cinema chains, differences are observed in the screening of films:
21 local films were presented in the “Park Cinema” network,
17 films were shown in the “Cinemastercard” network,
Nizami Cinema Center welcomed the audience with 19 films.
The indicators for 2025 show that local film production in Azerbaijan is stable, but the distribution between viewers and networks is not equal. Although most films are shown in the “Park Cinema” network, the opportunities for national cinema are more limited in some networks.
These indicators reveal the different level of distribution of local films in different cinemas, and also indicate that the participation of national films in large networks is still insufficient.

Films that remained in theaters for a long time can be considered examples of success both commercially and in terms of promoting national culture. This shows that Azerbaijani film production continues to move forward with high-quality, attractive projects for the audience.
Overall, 2025 can be considered a year in which local films demonstrated stable performance in terms of both number and duration.
