Ahmadagha Mughanli (Ahmadagha Gurbanov) was born in the Aliabad village of Bilasuvar.

He studied at the Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State University (1947-1952).

He began his career as a teacher at the Bayunlu village seven-year school of the Bilasuvar region (1944). He was the head of the main group at the Karl Marx village secondary school (1946-1947), a literary worker in the editorial office of the Baku Communist newspaper, an organ of the Baku Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. Since 1953, he has worked as an editor of the script department at the Azerbaijanfilm film studio, editor-in-chief of the documentary-chronicle and scientific-mass film union. He was a member of the script-editorial board at the film studio.

He began his literary career with the story “We are shooting so that…” published in the magazine “Revolution and Culture” (1951). He has published 11 books.

He was awarded the State Prize for the film "Bloody Soil" (1986).

Honored Worker of Culture (1991) Ahmadagha Mughanli died in 2001.
