Alikhan Samedov was born in Sumgayit.
He studied oboe at the Samed Vurgun Music School and accordion at the Nariman Narimanov House of Culture (1979-1982). He studied at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (1986-1990).
He plays wind instruments (balaban, clarinet, oboe, flute, zurna, saxophone) and folk instruments (naghara, goshanagara, tambourine, accordion) with mastery.
He moved to Turkey in 1993. He quickly gained a large audience with his balaban. He is the author of the book “Balaban Method”. He has been awarded various awards.
He is a People's Artist (2018).
