Aligulu Samadov (Aligulu Gudratoghlu) was born in Astara.

He studied at the Baku Telecommunications Technical School (1970-1975), the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (Yevgeny Matveyev's course).

In 1979, he was admitted to the acting department of the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio. He worked as a second director, dubbing director, casting director for many films and participated in the recording of synchronized sound effects. For a while, he worked at the Baku Children and Youth Theater (2012-2021).

He starred in the series "Keeping Us Young..." (1986, directed by Yevgeny Sherstobitov) by foreign filmmakers as Stepanov, in the film "The Interviewee" (1986, directed by Yuri Marukhin / Belarus), in the film "Project "Alpha" (1990, directed by Yevgeny Sherstobitov / Ukraine) as a navigator, in the film "Black Winter" (1991 / Iran), in the film "Leap" (1991, directed by Yevgeny Sherstobitov / Ukraine) as a captain, in the series "They Are Also Human" (1993, Turkey), in the series "Drongo" (2002, directed by Zinoviy Roizman / Russia), in the series "Assassination" (2004, directed by Vadi Ostrovsky / Russia), in the series "Born in the USSR" (2007, Russia), in the series "Train No. 57" (Turkey). He was the second director of the film “Black Winter” (1991 / Iran), the film “Dungeon of the Giants” (1993, director Hasan Mammadzadeh / Iran), the TV series “They Are Human Too” (1993, Turkey), the TV series “Drongo” (2002, director Zinoviy Roizman / Russia), the TV series “Assassination” (2004, director Vadi Ostrovsky / Russia), and the TV series “Born in the USSR” (2007, Russia).

He is an Honored Artist (2011).
