Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh

Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh was born in the village of Shagan, Baku.

He studied at the Drama Theater and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1978), and at the postgraduate course in stage movement of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater, Music and Cinematography (1987).

He worked as an actor at the Ganja State Drama Theater (1978), the Teaching Theater of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1981-1982), the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1982-1983), and as a teacher at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1983).

He became an associate professor of the “Stage Movement and Choreographic Art” department (1994). In 1994, he created the first Pantomime Theater Studio called “Deli Yigijagi” with a group of students he taught. In 2000, the “Deli Yiginjagi” Pantomime Theater-Studio was granted state status. Since then, he has been the artistic director and director of the theater, and since 2006, he has been working as its artistic director.

He is the author of the scientific works “The Importance of WUSHU – Hand-to-Hand Combat in the Education of the Actor’s Plastic Culture” (1991), “Methodological and Practical Studies on the 18 Fighting Techniques of Buddhist Monks” (1992), “The Importance of Movement Accuracy in Space and Time in the Actor’s Plastic Education” (1993), and the first Azerbaijani pantomime plays. He is the director of many performances.
