Basti Jafarova

Basti Jafarova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1975-1980, Adil Isgandarov's course).
During her student years, at the invitation of Tofig Kazimov, she performed the role of Seltanet in the psychological drama "Bird Flying Branches" (Ekrem Aylisli) at the Academic National Drama Theater. After graduation, she was assigned to the Academic National Drama Theater. During this time, she also played roles in Vagif Ibrahimoglu's Educational Theater and the "Yug" State Theater.
She is a professor at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2013).
She was awarded the Jafar Jabbarli Prize (2019). Honored Artist (1989), People's Artist (1998).
Actress Basti Jafarova is the mother of director and actress Fidan Jafarova.
