Farhang Huseynov was born in Baku.

He studied in the violin class of the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School (1968), the composition faculty of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory, and the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky (1975).

He taught at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory.

Since 1992, he has lived in Turkey and taught at Chukhurova University in Adana. He composed the first national Japanese opera "Kodayu" (1993) and the first Turkish antique ballet "The Queen of Aba". He is the author of operas and symphonic works. He was a laureate of the "Great Silk Road" International Competition (1991, Japan), the "For Peace" International Competition (1995, USA), and the I International Competition named after "Jose Asuncion Flores" (2000, Argentina).

Honored Artist (2009) Farhang Huseynov died in 2010.
