Fikrat Baghirov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan Art School named after Azim Azimzade (1958), and at the Art Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1964).
Since 1964, he has worked as an artist at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. His works have been exhibited in the republic and abroad.
Fikrat Baghirov, a laureate of the USSR State Prize (1980), Honored Artist (1982), and People's Artist, died in 1996.
