Govhar Hasanzadeh

Govhar Hasanzadeh was born in Baku.
She studied at the piano class of the Music School (1977-1984), the Music Theory and History specialty of the Asef Zeynalli Music School (1984-1988), and the Composition class of the Baku Music Academy (1988-1993, Jovdat Hajiyev's course).
She worked as the director and artistic director of the Heydar Aliyev Palace (1993), and the head of the Shahriyar Cultural Center (2001). She composed more than 250 songs and more than 50 musical works in other genres. For the first time, Azerbaijan was represented at the “Eurovision Song Contest” music contest with her composition and artistic direction, along with Elnur Huseynov and Samir Javadzade (2008, the song “Day after day”). Azerbaijan also performed for the first time at the “Turkvision” music contest with her composition and won (2013, Farid Hasanov’s song “Yasha”).
She has been a member of MESAM (Turkish Music Owners Professional Association) since 1998. She has been the chairman of the “For Copyright” Public Association since 2021. She has been the general director of the Eurasian Confederation of Rights Owners Organizations (AHTK) since 2023. She currently works as the deputy head of the “Sarhedchi” Cultural Center and head of the cultural support department of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
She is an Honored Artist (2006).
