Grigori Lemberg was born in the Ukrainian city of Yelizavetgrad.
His true art was photography, and he worked as a photographer in Russia (1888-1911). Since 1911, he worked as a cameraman in the first Russian film company of A. Drankov, in the film company of R. Persky, in the companies "Kino-Alfa" and "Biokhrom". In 1915-1917, he was a cameraman for films shot in Baku. He was the only cameraman who filmed the February Revolution in Petrograd. Since 1923, he worked in Russia at the "Dovletkino" and shot scientific and mass films.
Grigori Lemberg died in 1945.
