Gulbaniz Azimzadeh was born in Baku.
She studied at the Azerbaijan State Art School (1963-1968), the directing faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1969-1974, E.Talanki's class).
She worked as a production director at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio (1974-1998). She was the founder and head of the independent "Beniz" studio and the "Cinema Lumiere Club" studio.
Honored Artist (2000) Gulbaniz Azimzadeh died in 2006.
