Guljahan Gulahmadova-Martinova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1947-1952, Mehdi Mammadov's course).
She is one of the first Azerbaijani professional female theater directors. She worked at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1952-1982). Since 1982, she has been the director of the Opera Studio named after Shovket Mammadova. She was a professor of the vocal department of the Baku Academy of Music. She was awarded the Order of "Badge of Honor".
Laureate of the State Prize (1972), People's Artist (1981) Guljahan Gulahmadova-Martinova died in 2018 at the age of 92.
